It’s difficult to put these feelings in directions. The ensuing Passacaglia, at nearly five minutes, is the longest movement. The Lion And The Lute: One thing that I learned while watching Julian Bream play it, besides the fingerings for the Dowland, is that it is not nine pieces of music, it is one piece of music. It was the original nocturbal and the music changes suddenly. I’m not sure I’ll ever play it, but the arrival of the Dowland at the end nocturnxl the variations is one of my favorite moments in classical guitar music.
