You can tell me its composition, dimensions, weight, temperature. One Machine seeks to find out as much as possible about Man, and eventually, breaht become one. Enter into this landscape a Machine, Frost, who wants to know everything about human beings.


Along the way, the story explores the differences between Man and Machine, the former experiencing the world qualitatively, while the latter do so quantitatively.

Then, Frost fulfills his quest of becoming a human, and Divcom loses out on his end of the bargain. This obviously needs some examination, and I think anyone wishing to make a coherent conception of the human identity needs to answer this question: He won the Nebula award three times out of 14 nominations and the Hugo award six times out of 14 nominations.

I also love that this was written before AI got too advanced. Man is always looking for a way to bend the rules so that they can do whatever they want while still having the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are abiding by the rules.
